Mark Shaw is the Community Engagement Manager at CampV.

Mark is originally from Marshall, Texas and enlisted in the Army in 1996. Mark began his career as an attack helicopter mechanic (AH64 Apache) with 1-1 Aviation First Infantry Division in Katterbach Germany. His first deployment was expeditionary and implementation force Bosnia and Herzegovina formally known as Yugoslavia. Mark transferred to Special Operations as a Calvary Scout in 2000. In 2002 Mark was deployed to Noble Eagle II in response to 911 for homeland security of sensitive weapons supply locations around the United States. In 2005 Mark was deployed to Romania with 5th Tank Armored Regiment to Forward Operating Base Texas for joint combat training with the Romanian Infantry. During the same duration he was transferred to Operation Enduring Freedom as a Battle NCO for ground operations for the next year and a half. Within these listed time frames Mark ran operations for hurricane humanitarian relief for hurricanes Rita, Ike, Gustav, and Harvey. In 2013 Mark became the S3 Logistics for the 636 BSB (Battalion Sustainment Brigade) for all training and planning.

Marks career has garnered several distinctions including the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (2nd award), National Defense Service Medal (3rd award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (2nd award), NATO Medal, AH-64 Apache Aircraft Crewman Badge, Basic Aviation Badge, Texas Federal Service Medal, and Texas Faithful Medal.

Mark’s positions over his career Crew chief of Ah-64 Apache Helicopter, upon transferring to 19D Calvary Scout he served as a Scout Squad Leader, Scout Team Leader, and Scout Platoon Sergeant.
Mark retired as a Sergeant First Class in April 2018.
Mark has been involved with CampV since May 2021, was hired as the Facility Manager in September 2021 and is currently the Community Engagement Manager as of May 2022.
