Peer Groups

Serving All of East Texas

For More Than Mental Health

Peer groups are not always strictly for counseling, they are also a fun way to be social and meet new people.

Our peer groups bring together Veterans and families with a common theme or shared interest to help fight social isolation in a fun and exciting environment.

Current support groups include:

  • Rally Point - For Veterans, active military personnel, and their families who enjoy making connections with like-minded people.
  • Newcomer Group - For those new to Tyler or have been here a while and are looking for ways to connect to their community.
  • Vietnam Veterans Group - Specifically for Veterans who were deployed to Vietnam during the Vietnam War, 1955-1975.
  • Mental Health Group - For active military and Veterans experiencing mental health issues, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
  • Women’s-Only Peer Groups - A variety of women’s-only peer groups cater to female Veterans, significant others, and caregivers:
    • Fireside Chat for female Veterans
    • MST Support Group
    • Military Significant Other (MILSO) Support Group
    • Caregiver Support and Connection Group.

Peer Groups of the People

Peer groups are of the people, by the people, and for the people. In other words, you can create a peer group around any theme or shared interest.

Play an instrument? Start a band.

Ride a bike? Like to hike? Hunt? Fish?

You get the idea. No matter your interest, there are likely others in the military community who share it. Where two or more come together with a common goal, you’ve got a support group.

Just let us know how CampV can help you facilitate it.
