Jason Galusha is the Veteran Services Director at CampV.

Jason is originally from Rochester, New York and enlisted in the Army in 1997.  Jason comes from a strong Military Background as his Grandfather served in WWII and his father served in Vietnam.  Following One Station Unit Training, Jason began his career as a Military Policeman (MP) at Youngson South Korea assigned to the 142nd MP CO.  After serving 14 years as an MP, Jason changed Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), where he served as a Counterintelligence (CI) Special Agent, Jason served an additional 7 years in the Army.  Prior to his retirement from active duty as a Sergeant First Class (SFC), Jason was stationed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait where he served as the Senior CI agent/ Detachment Non-Commissioned Officer.

 

Jason’s career in the Army included eight duty stations, two deployments to eastern bloc nations and several security missions including Security for Team USA and President George H. W. Bush at the 2004 Olympics and two combat deployments. Jason garnered several distinctions in his career including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the overseas service ribbon (7), Iraq campaign medal with three campaign stars and the Combat Action Badge. 

Jason’s positions over his 21-year career include Team Leader, Special Reaction Team Leader, Squad Leader, Dog Handler, Senior Instructor, Senior Agent and Detachment Non-Commissioned Officer.  Jason Trained both Iraqi Army and Ukrainian Army Soldiers, and has provided security for three U.S Presidents.

After spending over two decades serving in the United States Army, Jason settled in Tyler, Texas to spend time with his only daughter where he has resided since 2018.  Jason proudly says “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as soon as I could”.

 

Jason has been involved with CampV since January 2022.  His involvement led to him being selected as the Veteran Service Director as of July 2022.
